Frequently Asked Questions:

1. How long does it take?
A full body application takes about 20 minutes, then another 10 minutes drying time.

2. What if it gets on my hair and clothes?
We provide a hair cap for your hair, and recommend that you wear loose, dark clothing. Ideally cotton products are usually easier to clean in normal wash cycles at home.

3. Is it safe?

Yes, The lotion contains DHA, which has been approved bye the FDA for tanning application and cosmetic use. Although allergic reaction is possible.

4. How long does it last?

Colour is instantaneous, and darkens over the next 6 – 8 hours. On most skin the colour lasts 7 – 10 days.

5. Can I shower or bathe after the application?

Allow 6-8 hours before any sort of bathing, showering or strenuous activity that may cause you to sweat.

6. What do I wear?

You may want “all over colour” however, for the safety of everyone involved you must at least wear a thong.

7. How do I prepare for a spray tan?

Proper exfoliation is the key to a good spray tan. We recommend you use baking soda on a washcloth made of cotton. Loofahs and nylon scrubbers can create a streaky spray tan. Never use bar soaps on the day of a spray tan as they are too alkaline and can cause an orange tinge. Skin should be free from lotions, makeup and deodorants.

8. How do I maintain my spray tan?

Don’t apply lotions or creams for a few hours at a minimum. But after the first day, do moisturize your skin daily to help extend the life of the tan. It can also help prevent or minimize patchy fading. Avoid strong soaps, antibacterial or deodorant soaps as all have a reputation for unintentionally fading tans. If you notice any areas of skin beginning to wear, you may want to purchase a product from the salon that can even out those areas.

9. What about imperfections?

It can happen. Some areas tend to be drier than other areas and some slight imperfections can occur. Hand cleaners, denture tablets, baby oil or soap with pumice can help to lighten any areas that have absorbed more DHA than wanted.

10. What about inhaling the spray?

We take FDA recommended protective measures during the application of the spray tan.
